The Story So Far
Legend has it that bollards began life in the 1600’s and were designed to represent upended canons, utilised as boundary posts and other town markers they have evolved into an everyday sight for us all.
Around our supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, shops, stadiums, everywhere we look around our roads, towns and cities, everywhere we travel on our highways and byways, these days we cannot avoid the sight of bollards. They tell us which direction to travel in, they protect us from crime, they tell us where we can and cannot park, they sometimes even give us somewhere to sit and eat our lunch, some of them even disappear under the ground when not required, telescopically standing to attention when needed.
We can even choose the material they are made of, concrete, wood, rubber, mild steel, stainless steel, cast-iron, even re-cycled plastic. And the colours, painted, nylon coated, powder coated, black, green, any colour we like, or even just plain old galvanised.
