ATG Access to block 'Rat Run' on Slough High Street

A number plate recognition system will be installed in order to restrict access to motorists, and only allow buses, taxis and blue badge holders entry.

Access control is needed in the area due to motorists using the streets as a 'Rat Run'. This not only endangers pedestrian shoppers, but also blocks the local taxi ranks and causes significant disturbance to the local bus services.

This will be part of the pedestrianisation process currently ongoing in the area, with the aim of bringing shoppers back to Slough.
