Bollards catch convict driving without insurance

The man was in control of the car because his girlfriend, who was with him at the time, allowed him to drive, a court has heard. The woman then tried to evade prosecution by swapping seats with the prisoner, who was on day release, in the immediate aftermath of the crash.

They were caught on CCTV cameras making the swap, and are in further trouble after drugs were found in the womans handbag.
