Having enjoyed a yearly growth averaging 25%, the future is very encourging for ATG Access ™ bollards and, as long as people insist on driving where they should not, stealing vehicles, ram-raiding properties and parking where they are not allowed, there will always be a need for access control and security. Nothing is as easy to use, reliable, strong and aesthetically pleasing as a bollard.
 With the very real threat of terrorist attacks on our buildings and facilities by vehicles loaded with explosives, the security requirements of today are different to those of years gone by. With this in mind, and following a brief by British Government, consultation with national standards bodies and professional groups, ATG Access ™ developed the SP1000 high security rising bollard designed to protect from vehicular attack.
The bollard was subjected to the ultimate test when it was crash tested at 80km/h (50mph) with a fully laden 7.5 tonne truck at the TRL facility in Crowthorne. The test vehicle was "dead stopped" and the bollard continued to function. You can view footage of the tests here.
