After the initial site survey and discussions; ATG Access decided the most appropriate product to fit the security brief were the Rapidly Deployed Surface Mount Bollards. This product offers a temporary, high-security solution without having to cause any surface disruption. This was particularly important due to the nature of the positioning of the bollards within the complex.
The Arndale Centre, Manchester wanted to temporarily secure its two main entrances before Christmas 2011 while waiting for planning permission to permanently secure the entrances to the prestigious centre at a later date.
This was a unique specification for ATG Access. Not only were the bollards to be installed inside the shopping centre, they also had to have a finish to match the interior. This finish was carpet to conceal the chains linking the array of bollards together.
Another challenge was the time available to complete the project. The shopping centre could not be closed to the general public during normal hours, leaving a window of 12 hours (through the night) for ATG and the specified contractors to deliver, fit and finish the perimeter security installation.
ATG Access working with Greenwoods Contractors successfully completed the project on time and meeting all elements of the initial brief.
