Impact tested, high security bollards protect critical national infrastructure from vehicle borne attacks. Installing bollards allows entrances, car parks, service areas and private roads to be accessible only by authorised vehicles but remain pedestrian permeable. Fixed, HVM bollards provide crash tested perimeter security to protect critical national infrastructure from a vehicle-borne attack. A range of static bollards are available and have been certified to different security requirements with varying diameters. Aesthetic sleeves can be fitted over the high-security bollard core to meet any specific design requirements. Alternatively, bollards can be integrated into street furniture items such as planters, lighting columns, flag poles and benches to avoid a cluttered street scene.
Removable high security bollards can be installed within areas requiring very occasional vehicle access. To remove static or shallow foundation fixed bollards can be very disruptive and also costly to reinstate. Installing a removable, shallow foundation bollard takes away this disruption and facilitates very occasional access for annual events. Removable bollards can be fitted with an aesthetic sleeve to ensure that they are identical to static bollards fitting into a holistic physical security design.
ATG Access are the only supplier to have designed and tested a manually retractable security bollard range. Manually retractable, high security bollards are operated either by hand or using a hand-held battery drill depending on the model. No electricity or hydraulics are required to raise or lower products. Ideal for remote sites with little or limited access to an electricity supply or to secure gateways which are used very occasionally. ATG estimates that the total saving for a manually operated system is up to 50% of an automatic system.
High security, shallow mount bollards have been designed with a unique shallow foundation base. This not only minimises excavation disruption when installing perimeter protection, it also avoids the costly redirection of service networks.
