Surface Mounted Security

Modular Design

The Surface Guard System is completely modular, giving it the flexibility to secure any kind of event. It can be installed over kerbs, central reservations, against walls and even steps, making it the most versatile option in temporary security.

Rent or Buy

Whether you hold regular events or it’s just a one-off, the Surface Guard is the ideal choice, as the system can be rented or owned depending on your needs.

Lightweight & Easy to Store

Weighing only 175 kg per section, the Surface Guard is light enough to be quickly deployed and removed by a team of four men; no machinery required. The system also saves on space as up to eight units can be stacked on a single pallet for easy storage.

Quick to Deploy

An entire roadway can be secured in just over 30 minutes. This means road closures don’t need to be put in place until the last minute and areas can remain fully operational for longer.

Impact Tested

Impact test certified to the IWA 14 standard: IWA 14: V/2,500(N1G)/48/90:4.5 and IWA 14: V/7,200(N3C)/32/90:4.8.

Authorised Vehicle Access is Possible

We can also provide a vehicle entry point in case you need access for the emergency services. Access can be granted in just 30 seconds. Incorporated into the Surface Guard system, the access points are supplied with a reinforced steel base to cope with heavy vehicles.

Product Information

The innovative Surface Guard system has been designed to provide hostile vehicle mitigation and temporary event security for stadiums, festivals, urban squares and VIP visits. Successfully tested to the IWA 14 impact test standard, the Surface Guard system has been tested twice. The Surface Guard successfully stopped a 2,500 kg vehicle travelling at 30 mph and a 7,200 kg vehicle travelling at 32 kph.

Supplied in individual units, each section is lightweight and able to be stacked completely flat making transportation very straightforward. The barrier system is compact, easy to store, lightweight, painless to transport, robust and effortless to install, making it the ideal temporary event security solution.

The system is completely surface mounted, modular and incorporates a number of innovative features which allows its deployment from lightweight vehicles in a very short period of time and to secure a multitude of different site scenarios. The product can deal with road cambers and changes in levels as a result of curbs and traffic islands.

ATG Access has designed the system so that members of the public are protected without feeling that they are entering a fortress zone. The barrier system is completely pedestrian and bicycle permeable; an additional vehicle access point can be added to the system array to allow authorised emergency service vehicles gain access in an emergency.

For additional value, the Surface Guard can be further accessorised with footfall counting devices, LED lighting and advertising/sponsorship or information panels further enhancing the benefit of installing these systems at your temporary / semi-permanent event.

Able to be fitted utilising a variety of anchoring methods which are subject to site survey. Anchors include permanent methods which can be installed if events are in the same location at multiple times each year or completely temporary, surface mounted methods where events are ‘one-off’ and in varying locations.

Modular Protection System

A.

Polyurethane cover, supplied in light grey. Easy to stack and light-weight to store and carry. Can be vinyl wrapped to accommodate branding or sponsorship logos and designs.

B.

Warning chevrons on the front cover panel to increase visibility.

C.

Modularity of the system allows for a change in road level. This suits installations which need to run across a road and then a stepped pavement. This also allows for installation across a central reservation.

D.

Individual section ramps along with adjustable connectors allow the system to cope with uneven surfaces and severe road cambers.

E.

Approach ramp with anti-slip matting allowing easy access through the system for cyclists, wheelchairs, prams and walking aids. The standard depth of the ramp is 450 mm. This can be shortened or elongated if required.

F.

Lightweight, flexible, anti-slip in-fill panels. For the vehicular access point, the in-fill panels are constructed from mild-steel to cope with high axel loadings.
