We work with leading UK insurance companies and are listed as their preferred supplier of security bollards.
To be able to maintain this working relationship with UK insurance companies, our products have to be supplied to meet a certain specification. This extends to the wall thickness of the product to ensure solutions are not flimsy, but are robust enough to cope with regular use.
It also extends to the type of lock supplied with each telescopic or removable security bollard. Our locks are certified to the Sold Secure Gold stand which means that they have to withstand an attack test for over ten minutes. They also have a reinforced metal barrel which sits around the lock to prevent any would-be-criminals drilling the lock out of the security post.
Finally, our products are all fully serviceable and we provide the option for customers to purchase spare parts, there is no need to replace the whole product is one of the elements fails.
Released in 2017 by the British Standards Institution, PAS 170 is a standard for testing bollards, designed to protect against the threat posed by criminality and accidental impacts.
PAS 170 is aimed at providing a quick and inexpensive way of testing bollards with low-velocity impacts from a 2,500kg trolley.
If the asset or area you are aiming to protect has either a high value or serious consequences if affected by an accidental vehicular impact, investing in a solution which is impact test certified would be sensible, providing insurance and peace of mind.
If the application simply requires a solution to act as a deterrent for would-be-criminals or thieves, a PAS 170 solution might be overkill.
