Data centres contain vast amounts of critical, sensitive and valuable data. Considered to be critical national infrastructure, data centre sites must be protected against the possibility of a hostile vehicle attack. Access in and out of sites must be restricted to be able to successfully police visitors and deliveries.
Security objectives can be achieved using a number of methods from, crash-tested bollards to road blockers and vehicle barriers. These can also be integrated into existing security measures such as vehicle scanning, existing CCTV systems and ANPR cameras.
Normally data centres are located within remote sites, which have multiple vehicle access points as a result. Security objectives need to be carefully evaluated to ensure the most effective security solution is installed.
