Firstly you need to work out how many vehicle entry and exits points there are to your industrial site. Once you have established how many entrances and exits need to be secured, the rate of traffic flow through these access points need to be assessed. For high traffic flow, a product needs to be chosen to withstand multiple operations each hour.
For access points within minimal traffic flow, you may be able to install telescopic or removable security bollards to meet your security objectives.
Thirdly the type of visitor attending your site needs to be thought about. Staff may be treated differently to general visitors, security checks or procedures may differ. Pedestrian safety must be considered if traffic volume is high. Segregated areas may need to be made for pedestrians to move safely within areas of high traffic flow to avoid accidents.
Finally, the type of vehicle accessing the site is also important. Motorcycles can drive straight through an array of bollards but won't be able to pass through a rising arm barrier.
